Ballots go in the mail this week. Six candidates applied to run for the Board. Below, you can click to see their original applications.

All ballots that are received by close of business on June 1st will be counted. Ballots go to a PO Box which will not be opened until the last day of voting. An Election Committee consisting of a Board member and three GLC staff members will open the PO Box and count the ballots. Results will be posted following tabulation and ratified by the Board at their next meeting.

If you are a parent of a GLC student or a community member interested in serving on the Board, now’s your chance! The Board of Directors has approved increasing the board membership from five to seven at the February 6, 2009 meeting.
There are four positions, each for a three year term ending June 30, 2012 which need to be filled during this election period. The new Board members will begin their active participation with the new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009.

Applications will be accepted until May 7, 2009 at 5:00 PM. The balloting period to vote will begin May 14, 2009 and close on June 1, 2009 at 5:00 PM. The election results will be posted June 2, 2009 and announced at the June 3, 2009 meeting.
Qualifications for a board member are “the ability to attend Board meetings, a willingness to actively support and promote the operations of the corporation and dedication to the endeavors, mission and vision of the corporation.”
The meetings are held at the Redlands business office, once a month in the morning and usually last 2-3 hours.
